Walden on Lake Conroe CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

Walden is not only a wonderful place to retire; it's a terrific place to raise a family. So, with both children and grandchildren in mind, Walden sponsors several annual events guaranteed to entertain the younger crowd.

Throughout the year, the Yacht Club and the Raquet Club host holiday parties for the kids. The annual Easter Egg Hunt, complete with a visit from the Easter Bunny, is always a crowd-pleaser. Games, prizes and a costume parade are the highlight of the annual Halloween Party.  Of course, Christmas wouldn't be complete without a visit from Santa Claus at the annual Christmas Party.

The Walden Social Network hosts an annual summer fishing tournament for Walden kids age 14 and younger. Prizes, bait and lots of fun are supplied. The WSN "4th of July Parade" is fun for children of all ages! Families decorate their vehicles, golf carts, bicycles, mopeds, roller blades and even themselves! All imaginative forms of transportation are welcome! The parade winds its way through Walden and ends with a party and prizes at the Yacht Club.

Walden has a summer swim team that competes in the area, along with swimming lessons that is headed by Angie Buss.  For more information on lessons please call 936-582-1163.

Playgrounds at both the Yacht Club and the Walden Community Church are great places for kids to let off a little steam. Adult supervision is required. Stop by and play -- anytime ... any day. It's a great way to meet other families!
